• Triple, quadruple, quintuple, or have SIX times as much memory when using RAM Doubler™ from Connectix Corporation. Normally, RAM Doubler will double your RAM, but with MaxRAM, you can have SIX times as much memory you have built-in. That’s right — SIX. For example, if you have 8 MB of real RAM in your Macintosh, MaxRAM will give you 48 MB of RAM. (You can also choose a lower amount, if you desire.)
• Display an indicator in the menu bar that will flash when RAM Doubler is used.
To use MaxRAM, simply double click on it, select the desired amount of RAM (and if you want the indicator on), and Restart your Macintosh. From now on, you’ll have much more RAM that before!!
Shareware Info
Shareware fees for a starving student: I don’t move and destroy furniture, but I would greatly appreciate a nominal $5 check if you use MaxRAM or appreciate MaxRAM in any way. If you cannot pay the shareware fee, please spread the word on how totally cool MaxRAM is or upload MaxRAM to CompuServe, GEnie, Internet FTP sites, local BBSs, and anywhere else you may have access to (since I cannot afford to do so) or send a postcard to: Spencer Low / 130 Windward Court / Vallejo, CA 94591 / United States of America.
Requirements
MaxRAM, to function properly, requires the following:
• RAM Doubler 1.0.1.
• System 7.0 or newer.
Getting Started
To use MaxRAM, simply double-click on it. The following window will show up:
 
MaxRAM looks for the RAM Doubler extension in the Extension folder inside your System Folder. RAM Doubler must be installed to use MaxRAM.
After MaxRAM has found the RAM Doubler extension, you can change your settings:
 
Select the desired amount of RAM and if you want the indicator to be shown. The default amount of RAM is the last option (in this case, “16 MB”). When the indicator is turned on, RAM Doubler will flash a dot in the upper-left corner of the screen when it is used.
 
Once you have changed the settings to your satisfaction, click “Save.” MaxRAM will inform you that you must Restart your Macintosh to use more RAM. Click “Restart” to quit all open programs and restart. Or, click “Quit” simply to quit MaxRAM without restarting.
After your Macintosh starts up, you will be able to use your new RAM. Choose “About this Macintosh…” to see how much more RAM you have!!! Sample screen shot:

Troubleshooting
If you’re having problems with MaxRAM, please be sure of the following:
• You’re running System 7 or later.
• RAM Doubler version 1.0.1 is installed and in the Extensions folder.
If you still can’t get MaxRAM to work, please contact LowTek Creations. If you get a message from RAM Doubler that it could not fully double your RAM, please see your RAM Doubler manual in the Frequent Questions section.
